The Josephine E.P. by FuzzFace - EP (CD)

Colchester-based band, FuzzFace release their Josephine EP on Monday 1st March. The 20-minute disc, described as “immediate, earthy and passionate”, was produced by the band and recorded by Hammond organist Matt Simpkins in Colchester.
Opening track In This Smokey House takes a choppy guitar riff and mixes it with a northern soul groove, a melodic bass line and a hint of deep Gospel. The rowdy All The Time follows, driven by snarling guitar and wailing organ. An off-kilter country stomp dissolves into the chiming chorus of The Relegation Song, before Josephine’s full-on good-time groove brings the disc to a breathless close.
